** THE DOJO OATH**
Welcome to Kent Warriors...
The home of Herne and Whitstable Karate Clubs.
My name is Sensei Kevin Charles, I am a 3rd dan Black Belt instructor in Kyokushin Karate. I have been training for 15 years and 10 of them teaching. Kyokushin Karate is a very strong form of Karate, with a foundation in discipline and etiquette and breeding confidence, while teaching self defence techniques in a fun, safe and friendly environment.
Kent Warriors are the infrastructure of my two classes, located in Herne and Whitstable. They were originally partnered together, the Herne club was to support the Whitstable club but then became a very successful club within its own right.
Classes are broken up and split to suit younger and older students alike, so each student is given the chance to train at their own level. New students are always welcome, and have the main focus until they feel comfortable to work along side the more fluent students. These classes run throughout the year only breaking up the two weeks between Christmas and New Year.
Instructors in these clubs are fully qualified Black Belts with full insurance and police checked. Along with the discipline present in any of my lessons, the atmosphere is great and students don't just train together, they are friends, making the spirit in the lessons wonderful and vibrant.
We are licensed through International Karate which is now one of the largest organisations in Kent of its kind. International Karate provides a huge student base for my students to compete with at all levels, running at least four competitions a year, full contact and non contact, Kata competitions, summer camp and many more social dates along the way for students to attend, as well as this International Karate will grade students every three months as long as they have reached the desired amount of training sessions for each grade, allowing students to grade regularly, reaching their goals and obtaining a high standard of fitness, confidence and technical ability.
Our Instructors

Kent Warriors have a handful of wonderful instructors...
All our instructors are handpicked, and have been students within our organisation for several years. Feel free to read about our instructors and how they started their Kyokushin journey.
The Meaning of Osu.
The meaning of Osu is simple...
It is the combination of the two words; Oshi and Shinobu. Oshi meaning "push" and Shinobu meaning to "to ensure". Osu then, in turn means "to push". Endurance is an important factor in Kyokushin and the use of Osu enforces this.
